چکیده
A cluster density matrix is introduced in the form suitable for the selfconsistent calculation of relevant thermodynamic averages for the Ising model with spin S = 1/2. On this basis, derivation of the Gibbs free-energy for the effective field theory of Honmura and Kaneyoshi is presented.

We describe the pion electroproduction processes in the ∆(1232)-resonance region within the framework of chiral effective-field theory. By studying the observables of pion electroproduction in a next-to-leading order calculation we are able to make predictions and draw conclusions on the properties of the N → ∆ electromagnetic form factors.

Vanadium dioxide VO2 and its metal-insulator transition at T=340K continues to receive considerable interest. The question whether the physics of the insulating low-temperature phase is dominated by the Mott or the Peierls scenario, i.e. by correlation or band effects, is still under debate. A recent cluster dynamical mean field theory calculation[1] suggests a combination of both effects, char...

We present quantitative and qualitative arguments in favor of the claim that, within the present cosmological epoch, the U(1)Y factor in the Standard Model is an effective manifestation of SU(2) pure gauge dynamics of Yang-Mills scale Λ ∼ 10−4 eV. Results for the pressure and the energy density in the deconfining phase of this theory, obtained in a nonperturbative and analytical way, support th...
متن کاملN ov 2 00 8 Hard loop effective theory of the ( anisotropic ) quark gluon plasma
The generalization of the hard thermal loop effective theory to anisotropic plasmas is described with a detailed discussion of anisotropic dispersion laws and plasma instabilities. The numerical results obtained in real-time lattice simulations of the hard loop effective theory are reviewed, both for the stationary anisotropic case and for a quark-gluon plasma undergoing boost-invariant expansion.

This paper deals with the theoretical foundation of phenomenological effective two-body forces for beyond mean-field calculations such as the Generator Coordinate Method (GCM) or the projected mean-field method. Extending the Brueckner-Goldstone perturbation theory [34], a generalized G matrix removing the hard core problem by summing two-body correlations in the context of mixed non-orthogonal...
